Preschool at Home ~ Letter P

Each week I share 2-3 posts sharing our home preschool learning.  This post is only sharing our letter focused work. If we have a theme of the week, it will be a separate post too.  All of our general play based learning will be in a final weekly wrap up post called, “Learning with Ladybug.”  I am separating out the posts to make them easier for people to find down the road when searching for specific letter/theme activities.  See our entire home preschool plan here!

Her Letter P ABC Basket…

Home Preschool Letter P -9568

Our letter P phonics drawer had lots in it. She really enjoys playing with the tiny items, especially when there are a lot!

I set up her puzzles {all apart and mixed up} for her to do one morning, but she found them before bedtime and must have done them because I woke up to this!

She loves the paint cut and glue crafts from Learn, Create, Love.  This week we made the platypus!

Below she was finger painting the words that begin with P from the Letter P  pack which is available here. This printable pack was given to us from a kind blog reader who also creates printables!

From the same printable set, here she was finger painting the letters…

ABC Find It! was much more fun when the panda participated!!

Panda also helped her do a letter dig with our mini Letter P items!

Our All About Reading Pre lesson for lowercase was a cute pig with a curly tail and floppy ears! I suggested we put letter P’s on the letter, she voted for Ponies instead, they start with P!

Thanksgiving Calendar Connections 2013

A couple of years ago we released the Thanksgiving Calendar Connections cards. Each year the date of Thanksgiving changes, so there needed to be an update last year. If you downloaded the set last year, you won’t need this one, last year’s update had cards for 2012-2015, in the premium version {with the color border and prints front to back, that we usually sell}. I deleted the 2012 cards and this year have a new 2013-2015 download available, if this set is new to you!

Thanksgiving Calendar Connections 2013 through 2015_thumb[2]

The premium version of the new Thanksgiving Calendar Connections cards updated for 2013-2015 can be downloaded on the main Calendar Connections webpage, for FREE! Just scroll down to the Thanksgiving section.

The facts are written at a 3-6th grade level but you will be able to water them down for younger kids. It’s a great way to involve your entire family in exploring a particular theme.

NOTE: these DO print front to back, as they are the premium design.

I updated the small set for 2013 too, find it on the same webpage.

There is no eBook version of this set, due to the fact that I misplaced the folder with the images we used and it would take forever to find them again!

The cards fit my particular pocket chart calendar.

but you could use a poster foam board and velcro to easily create your own set up. You could also use a standard pocket chart.

You can use most of our Calendar Connections cards for any month! We now have 15 sets to choose from!

Tot School Gathering Place ~ Week 42

Gather together here, gather ideas from other blogs, share your own ideas on your own blog. Browse around at the other posts linked up, leave a few comments if you have time, and be sure to check back to see if your blog was featured!

Mama’s – YOU are some wonderful working women! So many fun and exciting activities were carried out by your sweet tots! Be sure to check out all the different blogs that linked to the Gathering Place to see if there is an activity that your tot (or future tot!) might enjoy! Thank you all for linking up and sharing your ideas with us!

Over at Learning in Grace, Tot Mom Brittany was busy exploring fall with several fun activities. Her felt project was very clever and a great way to work with pumpkins without all the mess!Learning In Grace

Mama Claire’s precious girls and the activities centered on her BFIAR book, I Am an Artist are just marvelous! Click on over to Angelicscalliwags to see all the delightful undertakings – especially the painting activity! So much fun!Angelicscalliwags

Tot School Feature

<center><a href="" target="_blank"><img alt="I was featured for Tot School!" src=""/ ></a></center>

Please read this carefully before linking up! This may no longer be the linky for you, so please glance through this list to be sure you want to stick around and link up with us!
By linking up you agree to the following:
  1. A photo and a link to your post may appear in a future Tot School post. You give me permission to choose a photo from the post you link up, and give me permission to use your ideas in my post. I will link back to you, mention your blog, and give you full credit for any ideas choose to share form your post. If you don’t want me sharing photos, your blog, or ideas, please don’t link up.
  2. Your post is a post written specifically for Tot School and not just an idea for tots. It features your own child{ren} in action. This is a community for moms to come together and share their journey with Tot School virtually.
  3. Provide a link back to Tot School within your blog post {you can use this link: or a direct link to the weekly post you link up to} if you link up. If you do not link back to Tot School, your link will be deleted. Link backs on the sidebar, or in a massive “I link up here” page don’t count ~ they are too difficult for me to find and the first thing I look for when verifying links is the link back.
  4. Link up your exact Tot School post {not your blog homepage} if you are unsure how to do that read this!
Each week I will feature photo{s} and ideas from blogs who link up. Sometimes it may be one simple idea, sometimes it may be a collection based around a concept .
