Easter Story Printables

Retelling the Easter Story

I found a great Easter resource right before Easter this year and wanted to share, even though Easter has passed.  It is a great resource to save for next year!

These printables are from My Wonder Studio, you can download everything you see in my post on their site! We used the color flannelgraph characters, and the BW He’s Alive! Coloring book scaled down to mini pictures.

My daughter LOVED using these characters all week as we learned together.  Instead of using them as flannelgraph figures, I printed on cardstock, laminated and used play dough to stand them up!

We used the printable coloring book and recreated each scene together as we read.  We also glued the mini scaled down page down as we worked through the story.

This was such a simple and meaningful way to review the story of Easter with her.  I am so thankful I found these in time to use with her this year!

Easter Q-Tip Painting Printables

Easter Q-Tip Painting Printables

We have a new Easter Q-Tip Painting set for you! This set has Christian and secular symbols of Easter. Personally, we don’t do “the bunny” but I used to be a public school teacher so I fully understand the restrictions of using certain symbols around religious holidays!  I also know many of you do the bunny in your home, so I put him in this packet.  If you are like us and don’t do bunnies, just ignore him!

There’s a color and BW version of each word, with the beginning sound at the top for Q-tip painting!

We use water colors mostly, but sometimes use Tempera paint too.

I hope many of you enjoy these printables with your kids or in your classroom!

WHY use Q-Tip Painting Printables?

The big answer is fine motor skills! You’ll notice how we focus on not only the tiny dots, but also using small items in painting or adding to the dots. All of this works on hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills

The letter identification is a secondary bonus!

See ideas for using these here!

Heart FELT Truths Easter Banner

Heart FELT Truths Easter Banner

We were given the Heart FELT Truths Easter Banner to review {there’s a discount code at the bottom of the post}. I was immediately drawn to this unique way of sharing the Easter story with my kids.  This year I was aiming for meaningful, different, and simple to prepare.  This is just that!  We are excited to use it beginning on Palm Sunday.

We have our Easter banner hanging in between our dining room and kitchen like shown below. The kids have asked several times what it is for, I am excited to reveal it soon! I went through and reviewed it all but we have not used it yet as a family since it isn’t time yet!

Heart Felt Easter

The complete set comes all prepared as you see, and includes the banner {which has 3 large banners in all that you flip over as instructed}.  The symbols are all included as shown below.

Heart Felt Easter

A printed guide is also included telling you exactly what to read and do each day!  Each day you will find a brief introduction, scripture reading, and discussion to use.

Heart Felt Easter

There are 8 days total {some days add more than one symbol}.  Here is a simple photo of one of the days so you can see how it is laid out.  It tells you exactly what to do, very simple and straightforward!

You can find more information and details here on the Heart FELT Truths blog! There is even an instruction guide and patterns to make your own if you are feeling crafty!

There is still time to order one and have it in time to use for Easter this year! In the Heart FELT Truths Etsy Store you will find all of the following Easter products:

  • Complete Easter Banner Packet (includes banner, hanging dowel, instructions and story text packet, and felt pieces)
  • Easter Banner DIY KIT (banner, hanging dowel, instructions and story text packet) with DIY patterns and felt supplies for making your own felt pieces.

Just Color! ~ Bunnies and Eggs

The idea behind Just Color! is simple ~ theme packs all focused around coloring. There are mostly coloring pages, and a few coloring activities. The coloring pages are all in one download to make it easier to download and print all at once, in case you have coloring monsters like I do!

I just added a new Bunnies & Eggs Coloring set! We don’t personally celebrate the bunny part of Easter but that doesn’t mean I don’t think the spring bunny stuff is cute!

Download the Bunnies and Eggs coloring printables and more here!

Remember, if you want to make a mini coloring book, you can always scale down PDF files! If you have any problems downloading or printing these or other PDF files, see troubleshooting tips here

We also have an Easter coloring set that focuses more on the part we celebrate as a family!

Easter Homeschool Fun

{disclosure: this post contains affiliate links}Easter Fun in Homeschool

I used to be great at planning holiday homeschool theme time.  Now, not so much.  As the work load for 3 homeschool kids has increased, I have less time to really plan out all of the extra stuff.  So, although these photos make it look like I was massively organized and prepared, I assure I was NOT.  I haphazardly dug out the Easter storage bin, put the books on the shelf, dumped the trinkets in a bin for the {goofy stuff not even related to Easter} sensory bin, and set out a few bunnies and eggs {also unrelated but cute}.

Our very favorite Easter books

Everything you will see below was a spur of the moment thing, I literally grabbed something when we had a few extra minutes! To top it all off, I was so unprepared, we did most of this AFTER Easter!  The kids liked the little Easter addition, as always, which is why I try to always do special theme things for them. Hal of the reason I am writing this post now is so I can come back to it next year and hopefully it will help me with some planning!

They especially LOVE crafts, so I browsed my Easter Pinterest board and chose this one! It was a BIG success!

Krash got very into it and chose to make a checkerboard and use oil pastels instead of paint. He gave it to his grandparents as a gift so I didn’t get a pic of his final project, it was beautiful!Easter Homeschool Activities -1604

He wanted another craft the next day while I was doing school with Pac, I showed him how to do this cross craft and he loved it!  Again, no final shot since he gave it as a gift!Easter Homeschool Activities -1639

We did a few activities from some Easter printable packs too.  Here she was doing a 1-10 Easter Cross puzzle {which I cannot find where I got, please let me know if you know-it had 3 crosses and a green hill with yellow behind it}…Easter Homeschool Activities -2011
