Flower Calendar Connections

Flower Identification Calendar Connections

My daughter has been very interested in flowers lately so I created a Flower Identification Calendar Connections set! This set is very basic and just focuses in naming the flowers, thus no back page with information.  She was interested in learning names and seeing pretty flowers which is why I made it simple.

She has enjoyed seeing which flower is next each day, simple summer learning for us!

I hide that little bucket of cards and give her the new one each day as a surprise and she puts in in our calendar.

The cards fit my particular pocket chart calendar.  I print my numbers on cardstock and laminate them before cutting them apart.

North American Backyard Birds Calendar Connections for K-2nd Grade

Yesterday we shared our new All About Birds Calendar Connections with you!  Today I am excited to share our new set created especially for younger children!

We chose Backyard Birds for our K-2 theme! I must admit that I selfishly chose this theme for Shannon to create for us in honor of my daughter’s OBSESSION with our birds right now.  I made sure all of our personal backyard birds were included and then we worked together to add other common backyard birds from across North America.

On the back of each card you’ll find 4 things: food, nesting, location and a special fact. We wanted to limit the information on the back to be simple for younger kids to learn.  We tried to do this by focusing on what the particular bird eats, where/how it nests, where it lives, and one neat fact.

NOTE: these DO print front to back, as they ARE our premium design. We have decided moving forward that all of our free sets will be this design.  A bundle with an eBook option will be offered for sale in my Teacher’s Notebook Shop too.  You can see an example of the bundled set here!

I am so excited to share that my friend Shannon {she writes the Calendar Connections cards for us, I design and host them} is back with new Calendar Connections for you!  She came to visit me a couple of weeks ago and we sat side by side as she created these!

We also brainstormed new topics together and have a brand new line of K-2 Calendar Connections coming your way!  Our main sets are targeted for grades 3-6, and can be used with any ages.  Our new K-2 sets are much simpler and are more similar to our current Baby Animals set here.  Stay tuned, we have our first K-2 set coming this week also!

We chose All About Birds for our next theme! This set will take you through the world of birds and discuss many scientific facts about the bird world.  The facts are written at a 3rd – 6th grade level but you will be able to water them down for younger kids. It’s a great way to involve your entire family in exploring a particular theme.

Black History ~ Calendar Connections

Black History Calendar Connections Printables

We have another new set of Calendar Connections cards! My wonderful friend Shannon took a break but she is back with a new set and plans for more in the near futurehas been hard at work behind the scenes! She writes the Calendar Connections cards for us, I design and host them.

We chose Black History for our next theme! Black History Month was a requested theme by many last year and Shannon has worked hard on this set. This new set tells a bit about the history of Black History Month, and features 27 different African-Americans who have contributed to our country in great ways. This set is featured for February, so you will notice there are only 29 cards, instead of the normal 31.
