Happy Flag Day! Did you know that Flag Day was first observed in 1885 in recognition of the 108th anniversary of the official adoption of The Stars and Stripes? Since then it was observed by various cities and schools but June 14th wasn’t officially proclaimed National Flag Day until August 3rd, 1949 when President Truman signed it as an Act of Congress.
So, take some time to teach your Tot about the Stars and Stripes. Make something red, white, and blue. Sing some songs! Enjoy Flag Day! And be sure to link up to the Gathering Place so we can see how you enjoyed your day/week!
