Thanksgiving ~ Just Color!

Just Color Thanksgiving

Ladybug and Krash love to color, which is new for me since PacMan disliked it as a younger child.  There are days when I can’t get enough coloring pages printed out for them, let alone hop online and download one page at a time like most coloring freebies online are.

I plan to take the idea of Just Color! and make simple theme packs all focused around coloring.  There are mostly coloring pages, and a few coloring activities {color by word, color by #/letter, find and color, count and color, etc.}.

The coloring pages are all in one download to make it easier to download and print all at once, in case you have coloring monsters like I do!

It made sense for me to begin with Thanksgiving coloring activities as my first set, and I have many more already in the works!  I hope many of you who have coloring fans like I do will enjoy these printables!

Remember, if you want to make a mini coloring book, you can always scale down PDF files!

Below you will see the  best ways to keep up with my blog, just choose what suits your lifestyle best.  Be sure to note that the email newsletter is different than receiving an email every time there is a new blog post or the weekly wrap up email, so be sure to sign up for both if you want both.

Short on time?  Here are the VERY basics with sign up links.  Read below this for more details.

Personally, I recommend the weekly wrap up and the newsletter.  That way you won’t miss blog posts or special freebies and offers.

1plus1plus1 Email Newsletter

      • Email newsletter will contain links to recent posts, upcoming projects and posts, and reminders of posts in our archives that might be helpful. Special announcements, and other promotions will also come via email newsletter. The newsletter is different from the blog post email, so be sure to sign up for both if you want both! You can always unsubscribe very easily if it’s not for you!
      • After you sign up, you will need to verify that you signed up, so be sure to click on the verification link in the email sent to you {check spam if it doesn’t come!}.
      • These emails are delivered via MadMimi.
      • FYI, within an hour of signing up and confirming your subscription to the email newsletter, you should get a welcome newsletter as well as the newsletter subscriber only freebies {including the Where to Begin With Tot School eBook}.

1plus1plus1 Blog Posts via Email

      • If you’d like to receive an email every time 1+1+1=1 has a new blog post {usually 4-7 times per week} use this option!
      • After you sign up, you will need to verify that you signed up, so be sure to click on the verification link in the email sent to you {check spam if it doesn’t come!}.

A Special Note About My Email Feed…

We have been having trouble with my Feedburner email feed {which thousands of you use} and many of you have kindly emailed me to share that you can’t see the images in the email. I am trying to encourage everyone to unsubscribe from the Feedburner email feed and subscribe to the feed through MadMimi.

1plus1plus1 RSS

  • If you enjoy reading blogs in an RSS reader, follow my RSS feed here!  You will see all new blog posts {but not the email newsletter shown above}.

Questions?  If you are not very tech-savvy, I recommend signing up for the email newsletter and the blog feed via email.  If you end up not wanting both, just unsubscribe to the one you dislike, unsubscribing is very easy. If you sign up and confirm and never receive your emails, I recommend trying to sign up again, that has happened to me before with other blogs and the 2nd time it worked fine.  If you try twice and with different emails, let me know and I will do my best to help you out!

Weekly Wrap-Up

We continue to use our morning board {see full board here}, We are using the Botany Calendar Connections set this month, which came to an end and we all really learned {and reviewed} a lot! Ladybug mainly perfected her counting skills!Botany Calendar Connections -3600

Having the eBook version is helpful so all 3 kids could look at the picture as I read the fact to them.Botany Calendar Connections -3597

ABC movement cards continue to be a favorite, letter Oo is for “jumping over a pillow” which was a big hit!

We are up to DVD 4 with What’s in the Bible {see links and how we are using these DVDs here}.  They especially love it when we have communal lunch as we watch together. Homeschool-3517

The kids really enjoyed our Home Art Studio lesson, which was rollercoasters!Home Art Studio Rollercoasters-3659

I don’t have a photo of us, but we began reading Christian Heroes: George Muller outloud this week.  All 3 kids sat with me this time, and Krash and PacMan really enjoyed it!George Muller

Here he was working on his 1st Grade Calvert Sight Words, and graciously posing for me.1st Grade Homeschool-3611

Along with All About Spelling 1 we also do the spelling lists provided with Calvert, mostly as a review.  He is breezing through the words, and really enjoys practicing his words on the iPad {Word Wizard is the app we use}  before we take the weekly test Homeschool-3527

He is a few stories into his 2nd reader with Calvert and is doing well.  I love snuggling with him while he reads his stories to me!

A BIG favorite right now is his First in Math computer game.  He gets access to this through our cyber school, and it is amazing!  He loves the competition and challenge so he learns math skills beyond his grade level and flies through 1st grade math!Homeschool-3702

So, there aren’t usually a lot of pictures of my dear sweet PacMan, he gets all goofy when I try to snap a picture of him!Homeschool-3695

I love this goofy kid.  We are enjoying 5th grade learning together, his favorite is science and mine is history.   We read those together, snuggled up in a bean bag most of the time.

That’s certainly not everything we did, but a glimpse of what my camera captured! To see more weekly wrap-ups, visit…

Home Art Studio ~ Rollercoasters

We are reviewing a fabulous home art curriculum, Home Art Studio! We were using just the third grade level, but recently got the 1st grade kit to review also. I am blogging through our art projects to help keep me {the non-art lover} accountable, and also so I can prove to my kids that we DID do art!

Our latest project was Rollercoasters, which again I was excited about, since it seemed pretty simple and fun. This is the first project on the 1st grade DVD.  We watched the DVD before beginning, and then referred to the printed lesson plan while working. On the DVD they enjoyed seeing real rollercoasters!

This was another project I knew Ladybug could participate in.  I cut out her strips and she drew the black lines on and told me where to glue stuff.  I helped her a lot, but she loved every moment of the project and the end result!Home Art Studio Rollercoasters-3619

Krash was extremely into this one, he LOVED it!Home Art Studio Rollercoasters-3643

He worked long after the other two, making many track pieces on his own and working hard to construct his coaster.  I didn’t help him one bit with it!Home Art Studio Rollercoasters-3649

Naming the coasters was a part of the project too, Krash chose “King Coaster” for his.Home Art Studio Rollercoasters-3658

Pac loves art, so he jumped at the chance to join us and completed his coaster on his own too.Home Art Studio Rollercoasters-3652

The completed coasters with the happy bunch {happy because they love doing art projects}!Home Art Studio Rollercoasters-3659

Since I know these won’t keep forever, I took a picture of each one for the kids, this is Ladybug’s, “Bat Coaster.”Home Art Studio Rollercoasters-3665

Krash’s “King Coaster,” I love how he connected all of his pieces so thoughtfully!Home Art Studio Rollercoasters-3667

Finally, PacMan’s “Stealth Raptor.”Home Art Studio Rollercoasters-3670

Yay!  No paint again!  I am going to lose it when paint comes back into the art project time!
