Tot School Printables F is for Foot

Letter: Ff

Object: Foot

Vocabulary Development Theme: Body Parts

You can find the printables for this unit here on the Tot School Printables webpage.

Best thing we did all week…

IMG_2958 IMG_2961

We used our vocabulary cards, a  baby doll, and each other to work with Ladybug on labeling body parts!IMG_2963

She also had fun putting the cards into an empty tissue box as we were naming them…IMG_3124

We used our homemade play dough to make letters again, she liked this a lot!IMG_2981

My shock of the week, the girl actually attempted to write the letter F on her sheet!  Did a pretty good job too!IMG_2917

We worked on lacing together, she helped me do it…IMG_3102

She actually did the shadow matching this week!!IMG_2932

She did a lot of dot painting again,

IMG_2972  IMG_2976

We colored the feet together and she really enjoyed playing with them and lining the, up this week!  I personally do not like feet much, she is thrilled with the feet however.IMG_2924

We worked with our review flashcards  {you can download the first set here}, this week matching them up to our foam letters!IMG_3016

We enjoy our play dough a lot now that it is SO much better {homemade}.  I made a snake for Ladybug, and she poked holes in it!IMG_2984

Then we got out our little dough stampers from our Grasshopper Preschool Prep Kit and had a blast.  Ladybug enjoyed the top of the dot paint marker making circles also!IMG_2992

Even Krash joined us for a while when he saw what we were doing!IMG_2996

These came out a few times this week!IMG_3115

Our jewels are a popular item in our home.  The most recent fun has been using the jewels along with our tea setsIMG_2999

She LOVES our ABC mat, and asks for it often.  She is beginning to match up the bean bag {ours are homemade, here is a set on Amazon} letters and enjoys it!IMG_3024

She loves playing with Boggle JrIMG_3085

Working on her Animal Puzzle book…IMG_3129

I LOVE giant balls from Target.  She picked out a purple one and we have had so much fun with it.

IMG_3087 IMG_3090 IMG_3091

Ladybug is now an almost daily participant in our Calendar time.  She is an absolute riot.  Her favorite part is singing our names and running the length of the schoolroom when her name is called.  Look how giddy she is…IMG_2949

She can also “read” each of our names and hand out the cards appropriately when I call them.  She is our official card hander-outer.IMG_2952

Tons of reading as usual, of course in the bean bag!IMG_3153

We used our Leapfrog letters again, she was really excited when she realized the letters matched ;-).

IMG_2190 IMG_2195

This week we also used our new homemade play dough to make the letters too, she liked this!Foam Letters with Play Dough

She enjoyed this so much, we did it on a few different days!  After working on our letter, we just played with the play dough!IMG_2334

For our vocabulary development theme, I gathered as many kitchen items as I could find to match with her cards.  She really enjoyed this!

She actually did the shadow matching this week!!IMG_2395

I did the puzzle for her a few times, but she got very frustrated when trying to do it herself 😉IMG_2397

She did a lot of dot painting again,IMG_2197

She loved dot painting the Ee objects!!!IMG_2325

I created the first set of add-ons for the Tot School Printables program, for now these will only be available to download within my blog posts.  Eventually I may create a separate area for the “extras” but for now you can download the first set here, which includes review flashcards {in color or BW} for letters A-H, as shown below…IMG_2342Ladybug really enjoyed these and had a great time finding the letter I asked her to show me!  She is really proud of the letters she knows!!!IMG_2343

Each week we have a focus color, that goes along with our Tot School Printables unit, his week it was orange.  I pulled out our orange drawer of stuff for her to explore and she loved it.IMG_2170

Here she was putting her large beads onto a straw {I shoved something into the end to make them stay}.IMG_2264

She got this adorable game for her birthday from a friend and she LOVES it!

IMG_2307  IMG_2310

We are currently reviewing Twisters & Twister Curves from Guidecraft and this is her favorite thing to do with them…IMG_2184

Another awesome consignment sale find, the wooden ABC bookIMG_2318

An old favorite, the piggy bankIMG_2681

We began cutting this week, with her very own pink Koopy scissors.  She is doing really well but still needs my help for the most part.IMG_2400

We got out our shape viewers to work on shapes this week instead of using the cards form our Tot School Printables unit.  She really enjoyed these!!!

tub of fun

She loved playing with our bird sensory bin several time this week, so did Krash!IMG_2381

This week she watched many PowerPoints again!  She is really enjoying the new rhyming words show, even though I actually created it for Krash!.IMG_2469

They are both loving our new Leapfrog movie, Math Adventure to the Moon, of course chilling out in their bean bags.

Tot School ~ Letter Dd

~Ladybug is currently 24 months old~

Tot School Printables D is for Duck

Letter: Dd

Object: Ducks

Vocabulary Development Theme: Birds

You can find the printables for this unit here on the Tot School Printables webpage.

I gathered birds in advance, but Ladybug wasn’t as impressed as I was.  She enjoyed some of the birds, the flamingo in particular.  But she doesn’t seem to be a birds type of gal. IMG_1290We did match up our cards anyway, but she wasn’t impressed with that either.IMG_1282

She did like putting the birds night-night in the bean bag though.  Hey, whatever floats your boat!IMG_1284

I accidentally printed an extra set of bird cards and let her find them with dot paint, which she did like!IMG_2137

We used our Leapfrog letters again…IMG_1021

She did a lot of dot painting again, but not nearly as much as last week!IMG_1017

She colored a few of her ducks this week, with me coloring most of themIMG_1255

She tried her best at the lacing again, but, got frustrated quickly.  She did last a bit longer and really tried to get it through the hole herself!  She did NOT want help!!!IMG_1277

She finally did some stamping on her own this week!IMG_2130

She loved dot painting the Dd objects!!!IMG_1153

We added in some Dd printables from other sources this week, mostly because she enjoys dot painting so much!

We used some of Spell Outloud’s Dd is for Ducks printables

IMG_1165  IMG_1013

She also did the Dd from Confessions of a HomeschoolerIMG_1266

This week she did not enjoy several of our items {shapes, numbers, shadow matching, sequencing} which is fine~ so we just glanced at them and then moved on! Next week I plan to try something a bit different to see if I can peak her interest in some of the activities!  I don’t expect her to love everything each week though.

I finally got her bulletin board strips up so I can display her work, which she really liked!  Here is most of her work from this past week…IMG_2161

She loves our Bee Hive game, great fine motor skill practice with the leaves!  The boys LOVE this game even more than she does!IMG_0933

We put together our ABC floor puzzle and found some letters together!IMG_1052

A very favorite of hers still, our foam blocksIMG_1243

She enjoyed some Play Doh time while Krash worked on his school…IMG_1042

She got this set of Disney Babies books {consignment} and fell immediately in LOVE with them!IMG_1337

This week she watched many PowerPoints again!  However she did not choose the Counting 1-10 show!  Her favorite was definitely the Colors show, and she also really enjoyed the letter Dd PowerPoint from our Tot School Printables Dd unit.

IMG_1025 IMG_1023

We also used many times, focusing in on the letters we have done so far {A-D}.

IMG_1035 IMG_1030

side note ~ since I haven’t decided if I will create all 26 PowerPoint shows for the Tot School Printables units, I have decided to add the ones I do make to the current Members Only section!

Do you ever wonder what I do with her when I need to work with Krash and she isn’t cooperating?  Here’s a peek…IMG_2139

Ladybug turned 2 this past week!!!! We had SOOOO much fun celebrating her life together, her brothers were more excited than she was!!!  Here is a tiny glimpse into her fun {just our family for the “party”}IMG_1374

My mom made her dress, bib, and party hat!

IMG_1395  IMG_1416

She got a baby set {purchased at Costco awhile back} and LOVED it!!!!

IMG_1429  IMG_1473

She also got a wooden cake,IMG_1508

Froggy Boots in her size!!!

IMG_1516  IMG_1521

Also some Farm Puzzle BlocksIMG_1534

We spent the evening outside enjoying the spring weather, she was simply precious!!!IMG_1637 IMG_1859

The next day we took her to our children’s museum, her favorite places being the shopping and the duck pond…

Tot School ~ Letter Cc

~Ladybug is currently 23.5 months old~

Tot School Printables C is for Cat

Letter: Cc

Object: Cats

Vocabulary Development Theme: Pets

You can find the printables for this unit here on the Tot School Printables webpage.

To prepare for this week, I had the boys go on a cat hunt to find all of our toy and stuffed cats!  Ladybug was excited when they arrived! IMG_0537

I also pulled out our letter C from our foam floor puzzle, which she proceeded to “walk” the cat on…IMG_0530

I also pulled all of our books featuring cats, which she has LOVED {since she loves cats}IMG_0526

This week I gave her the letters at the table before we put them on the dishwasher with the A & B.  She LOVES the Leapfrog set, and plays the song again and again!  The letter C necklace was all her idea.

IMG_0560  IMG_0572

Again, she loved her printables and her “cool” {school} time, dot painting being a favorite, such a favorite she dot painted her cat many times…

IMG_0558   IMG_0615IMG_0708    IMG_0766

Her table high chair is just perfect, she asks to get into it and do “cool” many times throughout the day.  In fact, on our day off-she did more “cool” than she does on a normal school day!  In one sitting she did all of this…I had to keep printing and printing!  She got a good review this day!

She colored her cats this week for the first time!  Krash and I helped her some, but she actually colored about 3 of them on her own!!!IMG_0768

She tried her best at the lacing again, but got frustrated quickly.IMG_0645

Finding and coloring the cats on the letter Cc…IMG_0544

She amazed me with this, dot painting the actual letters like this completely on her own!!!  All the while saying “c” and then the sound.  The girls loves her letters!IMG_0629

Matching the cat cards ~ she did much better with this concept this week!IMG_0648

She liked the size sequencing cats, but they didn’t keep her attention for very long.IMG_0652

She did NOT like the stamping again this week, so Krash did it for her!IMG_0661

She loved dot painting the C objects!!!IMG_0642

This week I noticed she wasn’t interested in her vocabulary cards on 1 sheet so I cut them apart and laminated them.  Voila ~ she loved them!  I also got out as many mini pets as I could find to do some matching. IMG_0724 We used our Education Cube {although the small cards slid all around} to roll and find, but she preferred to just look at them all and talk about them together!IMG_0727

This week she did not enjoy the numbers & shapes ~ so we just glanced at them and then moved on!

Letter Cc printables here!Tot School Printables Toys and Books Letter C

Working on her favorite pet sounds puzzleIMG_0681

She still loves our gears toyIMG_0685

PacMan got out our ABC mat to work on letters with her.  They focused on ABC and she loved it!IMG_0735

Then she asked to be buried in beanbags!!!

IMG_0738  IMG_0747

She still asks for our Counting 1-10 show a LOT.  Here she is telling me that her “cack” {cat} wants to watch the “cool show” {school show}.  So, we did.  We watched the Counting 1-10, the letter Aa PowerPoint from our Tot School Printables Aa unit, and the new Colors show!

IMG_0665  IMG_0669

side note ~ since I haven’t decided if I will create all 26 PowerPoint shows for the Tot School Printables units, I have decided to add the ones I do make to the current Members Only section!  I added Bb but haven’t finished Cc yet.  We are using them for review!

She loves to sit at Pac Man’s desk and sort his art supplies.  Thankfully he thinks it is cute and doesn’t mind.IMG_0706

~Ladybug is currently 23 months old~

We had a GREAT week!!!  I am so glad God gave me the idea of the units, she is really loving them!  I have gotten lots of great feedback from many of you also!  I hope our tots continue to enjoy what I create!

Tot School Printables

Tot School Printables B is for Ball

Letter: Bb

Object: Balls

Vocabulary Development Theme: Outdoor Fun

You can find the printables for this unit here on the Tot School Printables webpage.

To prepare for this week, I had the boys help me fill a laundry basket with every {indoor} ball we had in our home!  Ladybug LOVED this basket all week long and played many, MANY times with the balls {so did the boys}.

Her favorite was to sit in the basket with the balls!

IMG_9314  IMG_9320

Again, she loved her printables and her “cool” {school} time, dot painting being a favorite…IMG_9326

Her table high chair is just perfect, I am so glad I ordered it on a whim!!!IMG_9335

She tried her best at the lacing, which was more than she did last week!  She did enjoy watching me do it!IMG_9352

I held the color cards for her as she scribbled a bit…IMG_9354

She really just wanted Krash to color them for her though!IMG_9359

I took the photos for the ball sequencing photos so she really loved that we had the actual ball in the photos!IMG_9421

She did NOT like the stamping this week!IMG_9538

She asked for purple, and spent a VERY long time coloring the Bb objects!!!IMG_9609

I added tiny magnets to our 3 part puzzles and gathered letters from our wooden set, and our Leapfrog set and added them to the dishwasher.  I will continue to add each week!  She LOVED this!IMG_9500

Learning Toys

I put her toys in baskets this week, just for a change, she didn’t really seem to care though.  Here she is matching shapesIMG_9372

She loved the alphabet Ladybug puzzlesIMG_9478

Here she was dancing and yelling along to our Laurie Berkner DVDIMG_9377

I made the kids a haphazard squishy letter writing baggie, using things we had that we don’t eat or were expired…deciding on syrup and cornstarch!  The boys had fun digging through the cabinets with me!  It worked well, but the letters disappeared quickly!  Ladybug loved squishing it around!

IMG_9597  IMG_9599

A little easel drawing!  She told me this was a star!IMG_9621

After she finishes her Tot School printables time, I have been letting her watch aBaby Signing Time DVD while I work with Krash, which she LOVES!IMG_9525

Techy Tot

She is in LOVE with the Starfall App on my iPod!!!  I can’t believe how good she is with it!
