Tot School Printables V is for Volcano

Letter: Vv

Object: Volcano

Vocabulary Development Theme: Landforms

You can find the printables for this unit here on the Tot School Printables webpage.

You will see below that she went on a Tot School blitz and wanted to do almost all of her activities in one sitting!  We kept going until she said all done.  A few of them we did again throughout the week too.

Coloring volcanoes….IMG_6630

Writing letter Vv, which she insisted was a W, now she knows the difference!IMG_6632

IMG_6636

Dot painting her letters,IMG_6641

Tracing in the dry erase center, she did this MANY times!IMG_6644

We worked on naming landforms and surprisingly, she loved this!IMG_6604

At a different time, she decided to write “letters” on them by herself.  Earlier one of the activities we did with them was to say the name ‘”waterfall” and I would write the beginning sound on the board on top of the image to emphasize the sound.  She must have liked this because she did it on her own later!IMG_6649

Numbers on the cookie sheet with magnetic pom poms…IMG_6671

Numbers again, this time writing them as we count…loving our new click Expo markers{which also work beautifully on the dry erase center}IMG_6859

She had non-themed shelves this week, filled with fun learning toys.  I forgot to take a photo of the shelf set up and didn’t get many action shots of her playing!  Here’s what I did capture…

Wooden fraction puzzlesIMG_6745

Magnetic stacking rings, she was trying so hard to match the picture with me…IMG_6747

Number Clip Cards, we worked with these together..IMG_6748

Easel drawing in her new winter hat, which she loves and won’t take off.

My girl is having a bit of iPad withdrawal.  She recently dropped it and the screen cracked and spider webbed across.  Boo.  BUT, I bought an awesome warranty from Square Trade and they are fixing it!  I plan to review the process after it is complete, I am actually a bit excited to be able to review their service!  I know how hard it is for people to find good warranties, and although I’d rather not have to use mine, I would love to let you know what I think now that I have to!

Here’s the last iPad shot I have, of her playing Tickle TapIMG_6471

I am currently pinning new iPad case options more appropriate to protect it from children, since they use it WAY more than I originally planned.  You can see the ones I am checking out here!  f you have one you love and it can withstand drops, leave me a comment!

Meanwhile, technology is all around us, here she was watching Speekee Spanish ~ which she still loves and asks for often.IMG_6472

We did some of our PowerPoint shows together and I taught her how to click the spacebar to advance the slides.  Here she as watching the Colors show.IMG_6479

She thought she was big stuff.IMG_6484

Moms-Favorite_thumb2_thumb_thumb_thu

I totally forgot to share her Halloween costume, she was a girly pirate, to match Krash!  We went to our local children’s museum to play and trick or treat a little bit!

Her shelves were mostly MONSTER themed, with a few random items!

On her shelves…  IMG_5091

  • top left shelf…Make a Monster with Stickers {stickers are from old balloon kits}
  • top middle shelfMini Monster Notebooks and pencils
  • top right shelf…Monster Puzzle {Target $1 last year}
  • bottom left…Ping Pong Balls, tongs transfer
  • bottom middle…Pouring beads
  • bottom right…Mini pipe cleaners into tiny holes {not even sure what the white thing is, some sort of kitchen straining item}

She loves pouring.  The pitcher is from Ikea, she’s pouring random beads into a silver tin.IMG_5154

Using her tongs to transfer ping pong balls into a paint tray…IMG_5157

Poking thin pipe cleaners into a kitchen strainer thing…IMG_5276

She played a lot with the nesting blocks as you can see from her outfits below!  IMG_5220

IMG_5340

She finally mastered stacking them all in order on her own!  Very proud girl!

IMG_5694  IMG_5693

Stacking pegs came out a lot too…IMG_5089

A little Connect Four, played toddler style {no rules}…IMG_5282

Using tongs to transfer porcupine balls to mini tubes {form our Monster bin}.IMG_5323

Building with the tubes…IMG_5328

We had a fun monster week around here!  Our Create-A-Monster Sensory Bin was a BIG hit with Ladybug!  She made MANY monsters and came up with some really cute creations

IMG_5123  IMG_5135

We pulled out our Monster Tot Pack {I LOVE being able to just pull folders out of things I already printed for Krash in the past!}.  She matched monsters to their shapes in our mini pocket chartIMG_5194

Matching dot colors, this was a bit challenging for her!IMG_5196

We sang a silly little song about which shape was on top of the monster’s head.IMG_5200

Ordering monsters by size…IMG_5201

She enjoyed dot painting monsters, both from Our Little Monkeys and 2 Teaching Mommies.IMG_5209

IMG_5707

She also used them for cutting practice!IMG_5718

She loved matching the monsters.  I made this for Krash years ago.  Just took a pack of stickers and stuck one set down and laminated the cut up other set for matching.IMG_5715

I also had left over monster making sets from K’s monster theme so she made one too.  The one on the top was made by Krash  years ago!IMG_5713

We used many left over balloon face sticker sheets we had to create monsters together.  This was a favorite of L-bug this week!

IMG_5265  IMG_5268

IMG_5271

We have a monster puzzle that Krash used for his monster week when he was a tot, she worked on it with me a few times!IMG_5279

Her favorite of the week was by far coloring Boo.  She watched Monster’s Inc. with us at the beginning of the week and fell in love with Boo.  She didn’t care much for any scenes without Boo to be honest!  I printed many Boo pictures from this site and she colored a total of 7 throughout the week.IMG_5262

IMG_5311   IMG_5183

I don’t ever want to forget her obsessive coloring so I gathered them all for a group shot…

IMG_5735

Techy-Tot_thumb2_thumb

Of course, Ladybug still plays our iPad, often sitting in our bean bag.  This past week, she has spent most of her time playing Tozzle, Monkey Preschool, and Park Math.  She is still determined to figure out Monkey Math, which is Krash’s game, but it is a bit too hard for her. IMG_5379

Her shelves were mostly Fall themed, with a few random items!

On her shelves…IMG_4738IMG_4746  IMG_4747

Our fall sensory bin was out in the open and played with daily.  Ladybug works on so many skills while she plays.

IMG_4764

Here she was tossing leaves as we were singing one of our fall songs.IMG_4761

PacMan was “leaf blowing” with our ball toy!IMG_4780

I added in a glass jar when I was close by, she had fun using her tongs to put items in.

IMG_4908  IMG_5014

She chose to use the tongs for clean up time mostly too!IMG_4913

She learned to stuff leaves down the blower toy and make them shoot out!

IMG_5029 IMG_5030

We used marbles for spooning one day too…IMG_5036

The leaves/styrofoam was fun, although Krash liked it more than she did!

IMG_4772

IMG_4777

She had more fun arranging them and watching them spin around!IMG_4902

IMG_4890

Plastic letters into the can was a BIG hit and played with daily.IMG_4880

IMG_4831

One of our all time favorite toys made an appearance.  Even the boys still love this thing.IMG_4750

IMG_4886

In honor of her Tot School Printable train theme, I got out her big toy train too.

IMG_4754

Of course our Foam blocks were out a lot.  This particular time she was covering up her friends and rescuing them!

She did leaf tracingIMG_4794

Worked on a “Where’s the Scarecrow” bookIMG_4937

Counted fall items with me, she still can’t handle this on her own.IMG_4946

Ladybug still loves the iPad, usually while sitting in our bean bag.  We got a few new apps recently and she has some old favorites too.  She has spent most of her time playing Tozzle, Monkey Preschool, GoFun, Starfall, and Kneebouncers.  She is determined to figure out Monkey Math, which is Krash’s game, but it is a bit too hard for her.  She likes to do it with me.IMG_5044

Tot School ~ Letter Ss

Tot-School-Printables

Tot School Printables S is for Star

Letter: Ss

Object: Star

Vocabulary Development Theme: Outer Space

You can find the printables for this unit here on the Tot School Printables webpage.

Here’s a peek at some of the Letter Ss activities she wanted to do {and I managed to snap photos of}.

Dot painting her letters… IMG_4471

After dot painting, she chose to draw, a daily activity for her now.  She has been making little jellyfish-looking people lately!IMG_4474

She wanted me to cut out her S pictures so she could glue them on her paper.  After she did this, she colored every single thing!IMG_4562

My girl can write an S better than her brothers! Ha ha!  Her fine motor skills never cease to AMAZE me, neither boy ever did anything like this!IMG_4567

Tracing like a pro!IMG_4569

Here she was coloring her stars and also telling me “no picher”  I take her picture anyway, mostly because I love these faces!

I didn’t expand her theme onto shelves this week, I needed a theme break. I did pull out a few apple things, but that’s it!

On her shelves…

IMG_4704

We have a second set of shelves that I rotate toys onto for school time.  Usually these toys are more geared towards the boys, but sometimes they overlap, like this week.  All three kids are free to go and use these toys/materials during school and free time.  When my tots were smaller, I would put certain “Tot School” toys up and out of sight when it wasn’t school time, but now they can all handle it and like having access.  So, for now it works for us this way!

IMG_4707

Most played with toy of the weekIMG_4424

The girl LOVED the animal train set.  It came out every day and she just loved it.  We matched up the cards a few times together but mostly she enjoyed playing with them on her own, both on the floor and on the magnetic board it comes with.

IMG_4643  IMG_4429

The following toys were also chosen a lot this week, just not quite as much as the animal train!

I love this toy, and it was given to us so long ago!

IMG_4436  IMG_4437

Poking pick up sticks into and empty cleaning wipes container…IMG_4446

Wooden Noah’s ArkIMG_4465

Foam blocks {another daily favorite}IMG_4460

“Picking” Apples ~ in the photo she is using mini tongs I got at a kitchen store in an outlet mall, but we do have these too.IMG_4625

Ladybug still loves the iPad, I just usually forget to share what she’s been up to on it!  I did snap a photo this week, which has reminded me to share her recent favorites! In this photo she is playing one of her very favorites, Tozzle.  She has also spent lots of time playing Monkey Preschool.

IMG_4618

Life-School_thumb3_thumb_thumb

Mostly this week, she colored Name pages, just printed from a Google search of Nemo Coloring.  I think I counted at least 9 total.  On one near the end of the week, she “wrote” her name.  I was sitting and working while she was coloring and I heard her saying the letters in her name out loud and I glanced over and she was writing letters that looked similar to the letters in her name!  I was shocked!IMG_4655

Moms-Favorite_thumb2_thumb_thumb_thu

My favorite was a toss up this week.  I adore this one I snapped one night of my man reading to my babies…IMG_4490

I also adore these of my little girl talking on the phone to her Baba, my Daddy!

She worked with the color book my mom got her at a recent consignment sale…

Our main school bins are always available, and come down a lot.  I move things around to inspire “choices” and sometimes will lay a bin out to encourage play.  This day I had set out the stacking pegs and she went right to building!IMG_4199

We played SO much, but I hardly took any photos during play time!

tub-of-fun_thumb2_thumbThe Rainforest Sensory Bin was out every day and we used the contents to work on various activities.IMG_4006

Ladybug has become quite the artist this past week, drawing little faces everywhere!

IMG_4057  IMG_4061

IMG_4066

One day I showed her how to draw a stick person, and she copied me!  Hers is on the left and she then added to my example on the right!IMG_4091Our great friend was over one night and she drew him!  I think it looks just like him!IMG_4280

She also explored finger paint, be sure to see the post if you’d like to see more!

IMG_4130  IMG_4173

We have a few friends come over once a week for a play date.  What a wonderful time of learning this is for Ladybug.  On the right, she was waiting for an apology from the sweet little boy who accidentally hit her with the trike.  I love her face!
