WHY use Q-Tip Painting Printables?

The big answer is fine motor skills! You’ll notice how we focus on not only the tiny dots, but also using small items in painting or adding to the dots. All of this works on hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills

Frozen Printables ~ Q-Tip Painting

Frozen Printables Q-Tip Painting_thumb[3]

We were late to jump on the Frozen train since my daughter didn’t like it when she first saw it in the theater.  Then we got the DVD and it all changed. I was going to make an entire Frozen printables pack but decided to just make additions to the packs I have already seen out there. First I made some Q-Tip Printables. There may be more Frozen printables coming, but no guarantees! If there’s a specific printable you have seen me make that you’d love with a Frozen theme, leave me a comment!

Ideas for Using ~ Q-Tip Painting Printables

Ideas for Using Q Tip Painting Printables

My daughter is the queen of loving something one day and hating it the next. She definitely keeps me on my toes. I began creating Q-Tip painting printables because she LOVED them and then suddenly she was SO over them. Anyone else relate?

I had to get creative with how we would use them and once I did, she loved them again! She now uses them weekly again, but chooses her method each time.

WHY use Q-Tip Painting Printables?

The big answer is fine motor skills! If you notice how we focus on not only the tiny dots, but also using small items in painting or adding to the dots. All of this works on hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills

The letter identification is a secondary bonus!

Below you will see several ideas for using these printables.

The obvious use is Q-Tips and paint. We use both tempera paint and water color paint. This was  the main reason they were created, and I was originally inspired by this post. You can see our original intro post here.

We have also cut straws down to a tiny size and let her paint with those.  I did this both for something different and also to make the grip area even smaller than a Q Tip to force her to use a better grip.

Adding glue dots and glitter is another fun activity, and one of her favorites.  She is usually able to add glue dots to some of them and then I finish when it gets too hard.

If managing a glue bottle is too much, try a toothpick!  I put a small amount of white glue in a craft cup and give her a toothpick to dot the glue on.

Then we sprinkle on the glitter!

Another spin on the use of glue is to glue on Perler beads.  Again, she will add the glue for some and I will finish.  Then she adds all of the beads.
