I wrote about my views on using themes with young kids, and there are certainly a LOT of early childhood themes to choose from! When you begin planning, Pinterest and Google can be a bit overwhelming!  I am creating this series to help you with your planning.  I have gathered all FREE theme based printable packs {mainly early childhood focused, tots-1st grade} that I am aware of and sorted them by letter so you can browse through and get ideas all in one place! I did NOT include holiday based packs, simply because there are so many and they are pretty easy to find when holidays roll around.

I have included free printable theme packs from bloggers around the web including; Homeschool Creations, 2 Teaching Mommies, Spell Outloud, 3 Dinosaurs, Confessions of a Homeschooler, Me & Marie Learning, Ooopsey Daisy, All Our Days, Creative Learning Fun, Royal Baloo, 123 Homeschool 4 Me, Lawteedah, Our Little Monkeys, Creative Preschool Resources, Our Country Road, Homeschool Share, Gift of Curiosity, This Reading Mama, and Over the Big Moon. {if any of you ladies notice an error please let me know!}

If the pack was created by another blogger, I listed their {blog name} in the brackets.  If there aren’t any brackets, I made it!

Raising Rock Stars Preschool ~ Letter Ff & Fairies!

Raising Rock Stars Preschool

Our letter this week ~ Ff, our verse:

Ff

See RRSP Letter Ff with Krash here!

Not familiar with RRSP? Read the intro post here!

{disclosure: there are affiliate links in this post}

She does about 2 RRSP activities per day plus the PowerPoint on most days.

We use our measuring tape to measure our verse after she cut and tapes it! This has become a regular thing now and it is a great way to bring in basic measurement and number ID in a natural way! We also compare the verse to her height, also bringing in lots of math terminology naturally!

More Preschool Fun!

Not everything we do revolves around our letter of the week, I just often forget to take pictures of the rest!

We got some new geoboards and Ladybug fell in LOVE with them!!!

Tot School ~ Letter F {frog}

~Ladybug is currently 34.5 months old~

Animal-ABC-Button92222

Here is her desk set up for letter F…IMG_1543

The items in the pocket chart are all available here on the Animal ABCs webpage.  I added frogs on her desk, including all of our Webkinz Frogs! {files are released for free when they are posted on the Totally Tots blog for the ABC feature, letter F is not free yet, but it will be once it is posted on Totally Tots!}.

We also had several frog books off to the side in her pink basket. I had a frog blanket I put out as well as our little frog game, which was a BIG hit.IMG_1545

On her shelves, nothing really frog related except for the top…IMG_1552

Here are some Letter F and Frog ideas for you…

She barely worked in her notebook at all this week, really just on one day.IMG_1560

She colored her frogs happily…IMG_1628

We pressed play doh dots onto a frog dot sheetIMG_1633

She put dot stickers on another frog dot sheet

IMG_1725 IMG_1729

Here she is working on Letter F Dot Fun, we used pom pom magnets this time {hot glue small magnets to puff balls}This set is included in the Animal ABC Bundle, or you can purchase the set as a stand alone set for $1.25 on Teacher’s Notebook.IMG_1850

She worked with me to make the letter craft, which is basically an open ended project that you can do whatever you want with!  This week she saw the letter on her desk and went at it with her markers!  She colored the entire thing dark blue!  Another day we cut frogs together, mostly she did it on her own this time!IMG_1801

Then she glued her frogs on her F…

IMG_1805 IMG_1811

I snapped a pic of her first 6 letters before I put them in her keepsake notebook for Animal ABCs.IMG_1837

I made some other frog printables for Ladybug, I just don’t have them ready to share yet-gotta adjust and upload the files.  I will, promise, just short on time right now!  I made a letter maze to match the animal.  At first she only wanted to put the magnets on every square, so I let her.  Then she noticed she didn’t have enough and logic set in.IMG_1853I told her she would have enough if she just put them on the pathway of letter Ff’s.  She did and loved it!IMG_1855

She is VERY into play doh letters.  I am working on a new set of A-Z play doh mats that feature the animals from Animal ABCs!  She LOVED these and worked on it a few timesIMG_1862

We made a frog inspired by No Time for FlashcardsIMG_1819

Special Note: Please read my post about Following the Child’s Lead if you have a tot and need info about this.  All tots are different and what Ladybug is doing may not be appropriate for your child, even if s/he is the same age!

We are taking our All About Reading Pre Level 1 lessons slowly.  I am not expecting mastery from Ladybug, just using this program as a way to expose her to the Big Five Skills.

This week we did lesson 6, continuing our work with rhyming words.  No photos of that part this week!

She loved the letter page this week!IMG_1823

IMG_1830

She was SO proud of her completed work.  As you can see she worked for a long time and really focused on the details.  She chose all colors herself!IMG_1842

Learning-Toys_thumb2_thumb_thumb_thu[1]It was learning toy week for her.  Usually she is more of a table gal, but she played TONS with her toys, which I loved!  All of this was her choice, if it were up to me we’d do way more of this every week!

Matching shapesIMG_1583

Noah’s Ark, she insisted on putting the animals in their proper holes…IMG_1568

This is the best baby toy ever.  All 3 of my kids still play with this thing!  Here she was spinning her frogs around!IMG_1574

She loves the Animal Train PuzzlesIMG_1587

Pattern Blocks on the dishwasher with Krash…

IMG_1613  IMG_1625

My girl loved the new colors of play doh.  She got busy cutting snakes right away!

IMG_1659 IMG_1674

She is in LOVE with Skylanders {it’s a video game if you don’t have school age boys, and I recently added a Kindergarten Pack to my website here!} and this is her favorite, Wrecking Ball.  She made him with the Play Doh.  She is such the little sis of BROTHERS!IMG_1709

She didn’t used to like this toy, but she went to it several times this week.  It is a challenge for her, but she can do it!IMG_1714

More pattern block time, she loves that her magnets are all organized now {I got that little click together box set at Target, actually I got several of them!}IMG_1717

Hanging ith the big Kids

This is a new section for Ladybug, it will contain all of the things she does because she simply wants to do whatever the boys are doing!

Here they are doing their Calendar Notebooks, while she sits and colors in her Tot Time Notebook.  She said to me several times, “Mommy, I wuv my notebook.”  ;-)

IMG_1758 IMG_1770

We are back to focusing on our virtues from We Choose Virtues.  We started learning about being Diligent this week.  She LOVES the cards and asks to hold them.  Guess they make good telescopes?IMG_1778

We are studying Brazil thanks to our Little Passports.  I have brought out all of our South America stuff and we just do a little each day-nothing major.  She LOVED the puzzle and wanted to do it herself!  She repeated all of the countries with me too!IMG_1864

Moms FavoriteThe girl is obsessed with her tutu collection and often has one on.  Her recent activity of the day is running around the living room and dancing.  It’s really just running, but she thinks she is doing a very fancy dance.IMG_1612

Tot School Printables F is for Foot

Letter: Ff

Object: Foot

Vocabulary Development Theme: Body Parts

You can find the printables for this unit here on the Tot School Printables webpage.

Best thing we did all week…

IMG_2958 IMG_2961

We used our vocabulary cards, a  baby doll, and each other to work with Ladybug on labeling body parts!IMG_2963

IMG_2965

IMG_2970

She also had fun putting the cards into an empty tissue box as we were naming them…IMG_3124

We used our homemade play dough to make letters again, she liked this a lot!IMG_2981

My shock of the week, the girl actually attempted to write the letter F on her sheet!  Did a pretty good job too!IMG_2917

We worked on lacing together, she helped me do it…IMG_3102

She actually did the shadow matching this week!!IMG_2932

She did a lot of dot painting again,

IMG_2972  IMG_2976

IMG_2930

We colored the feet together and she really enjoyed playing with them and lining the, up this week!  I personally do not like feet much, she is thrilled with the feet however.IMG_2924

We worked with our review flashcards  {you can download the first set here}, this week matching them up to our foam letters!IMG_3016

Learning-Toys_thumb2_thumb_thumb_thu

We enjoy our play dough a lot now that it is SO much better {homemade}.  I made a snake for Ladybug, and she poked holes in it!IMG_2984

Then we got out our little dough stampers from our Grasshopper Preschool Prep Kit and had a blast.  Ladybug enjoyed the top of the dot paint marker making circles also!IMG_2992

Even Krash joined us for a while when he saw what we were doing!IMG_2996

These came out a few times this week!IMG_3115

Our jewels are a popular item in our home.  The most recent fun has been using the jewels along with our tea setsIMG_2999

She LOVES our ABC mat, and asks for it often.  She is beginning to match up the bean bag {ours are homemade, here is a set on Amazon} letters and enjoys it!IMG_3024

She loves playing with Boggle JrIMG_3085

Working on her Animal Puzzle book…IMG_3129

I LOVE giant balls from Target.  She picked out a purple one and we have had so much fun with it.

IMG_3087 IMG_3090 IMG_3091

Life-School_thumb2_thumb_thumb_thumb

Ladybug is now an almost daily participant in our Calendar time.  She is an absolute riot.  Her favorite part is singing our names and running the length of the schoolroom when her name is called.  Look how giddy she is…IMG_2949

She can also “read” each of our names and hand out the cards appropriately when I call them.  She is our official card hander-outer.IMG_2952

Tons of reading as usual, of course in the bean bag!IMG_3153

Tot School ~ Spring Fun…Kites!

~Krash is currently 46 months old~

Learning Toys

We did ALL of his ladybug ABCs together, but it was way more fun to drive cars on the bug-road!IMG_2419

Stacker Pegs…always a BIG HIT {with both boys}… IMG_2440

He learned to put them on his fingers! {Visit my Play with Me post on Totally Tots for more play ideas with this awesome toy!}IMG_2444

K continues to LOVE these puzzles. By far his favorite puzzles. He has these and the dino set and asks for them a lot!IMG_2771

Remember these? Yup, we still love them. Krash can build them all by himself now…IMG_2827but his favorite thing to do is this… IMG_2828

Theme

We began our SPRING FUN this week {thankfully the SUN cooperated}, we enjoyed tons of KITE activities! You can find all of the files for these activities here on my Spring Fun webpage and also from Erica’s K is for Kite post!

He matched the kites…IMG_2343

Traced the lines {and amazed me with his ability to focus on this}! IMG_2346His control while tracing is unreal to me {since Pac Man was TOTALLY different}. IMG_2363

He dot painted his K is for Kite… IMG_2381

He counted 1-10 with me, putting his kites all in order {with help}…IMG_2560Then I had him practice 1:1 counting by moving each number over as he said it, to make sure he didn’t go too fast or skip any!IMG_2568

On another day we used erasers to match to the numbers 1-5…IMG_2804

We played the Build a Kite game… {I love these games for the number ID practice he gets}IMG_2597

He cut out all of his triangles and put his colored kite together… IMG_2796 IMG_2800

He read his Spring mini book a few times {Pac enjoys helping}…IMG_2554

He worked on his Spring ABC file folder several times. I gave him just a handful of letters to do each time so he wouldn’t get overwhelmed.IMG_2576

Post SubTitles ABC

We read the Gingerbread Baby and made F is for Fox!

IMG_2812 Some of you have asked if our letter matches up with our theme. NO it does not. I don’t worry about everything matching ;-). We do lots of stuff within a theme and lots of random stuff. Young kiddos don’t care nearly as much as we moms do about things all going together!

Techy TotMy iPod has been a sought after item this week for both boys. It’s funny how some weeks they barely ask for it, and some they are both fighting over it! Krash has especially enjoyed his different apps this week. IMG_2748I got him a new one in honor of the Dr. Seuss sale! We have enjoyed reading through the book together with this app and he has played with it alone too! Adorable and only 99 cents right now! Find this app and more on our website!

Rock Star Tot

Each morning during our calendar time, we practice our old verses. I always LOVE hearing Krash recite {sing} his verses from memory-it is so encouraging to me! IMG_2789

Tiny Tot School

Ladybug explored SPOOLS this week! I had a few plastic spools and some wooden ones my mom had saved for me. Again, such a simple object {and free}, but filled with opportunities to explore for a Tiny Tot! I love seeing her dig things out of the basket! IMG_2727She really liked seeing how many she could fit in her chubby little hands!IMG_2734

I added a clear empty container {parmesan cheese} and put them all inside, she had fun dumping them out, although she still just preferred to bang them together and hold lots in one hand!IMG_2778

Little bug is learning to get around much better now! I find her like this a lot now, just trying to get the courage up to drop and scoot!IMG_2745We had a little Tot School in the sun for a few days when God blessed us greatly!!!!!IMG_2663 Nothing better than the sun and big brothers who adore you, right? ;-) This princess has it made.IMG_2677IMG_2470Ladybug loves turning pages in books and will sit by herself and do this for a really long time! {yes, I know I am blessed-neither of the boys did this often or for nearly as long}. IMG_2481

Life School

The sun made for some awesome deck fun this past week. It is raining now {POURING actually} as I write this, so these pictures make me smile and long for the sun to return this week!

Krash practiced using a fan to cool himself from severe heat stroke {you know in the 58 degree weather}.

IMG_2507 Krash dresses himself most days now;-)IMG_2499

Moms Favorite

This boy just makes me smile. I simply adore him. Those brown eyes, that silly grin, those chubby cheeks. IMG_2397

Those are my feet, tickling him. I love remembering his contagious laugh.IMG_2409
