Flower Calendar Connections

Flower Identification Calendar Connections

My daughter has been very interested in flowers lately so I created a Flower Identification Calendar Connections set! This set is very basic and just focuses in naming the flowers, thus no back page with information.  She was interested in learning names and seeing pretty flowers which is why I made it simple.

She has enjoyed seeing which flower is next each day, simple summer learning for us!

I hide that little bucket of cards and give her the new one each day as a surprise and she puts in in our calendar.

The cards fit my particular pocket chart calendar.  I print my numbers on cardstock and laminate them before cutting them apart.

We also still create smaller sets to go along with the small pocket charts found in the Target $1 section. Be sure to visit this post for a tutorial of how to sew your $1 pocket chart into a calendar!

There is also a sheet included to be used in a Calendar Notebook if you are using those too!Calendar Connections SMALL Flowers

See some great flower books to go along here! I especially love Lola Plants a Garden which was new to us this year!

Unfamiliar with Nomenclature cards, also called 3-Part cards?

Nomenclature cards are a Montessori based idea. The word Nomenclature comes from the Latin “nomenclatura” which means assigning of names to things. Nomenclature cards are also called “3 part cards” for obvious reasons!

Here’s a couple of articles sharing more about the what, why, and how!

Let’s Explore Botany eBook

Botany eBook Cover

I am SO excited to share something new with you!!!  My friend Shannon {who writes the Calendar Connections series} and I are always brainstorming together and recently came up with something new together.  She is the author, I am the designer, of the brand new Let’s Explore eBook series!

I am taking the awesome Calendar Connections themes that Shannon has developed, and turning them into full size files to be used as eBooks.  You can read them on your computer, your iPad, or any device that supports PDF files.  Yes, you can even print them full size!  Remember, I have a tutorial for using these on your iPad here {the format is the same as the Easy Readers}. We both have iPads so that what we will be using them on.  Each eBook page has a number, which correlates with the order in the Botany Calendar Connections cards.

BUT, you don’t have to use this eBook with the CC cards, it can stand alone as a simple way to learn about a particular topic.  The series is created with 3rd-6th graders in mind, but it isn’t limited to those grades.  It is a great way to explore a topic across grade levels within your homeschool!

We are selling these in my Teacher’s Notebook Shop as a way to help us both raise support as missionaries, you can see this eBook as a part of the Let’s Explore Botany Bundle here for only $1.50!
