Tot School ~ Fall Theme

~ Ladybug is 41.5 Months Old ~Tot-School_thumb3_thumb_thumb

We used printables from various sources, mostly the ones shown below {buttons are linked to source}!  I also used a few items {coloring sheets mainly since Ladybug LOVES to color} pinned to my Fall Theme Pinterest board!

 Scarecrow Printables Fall Printables

I set up her area with a fall theme and she loved it.  I recreated our fall sensory bin, and added a big scarecrow!  Fall Tot School-3308

Fall Tot School

One of her favorite books is The Falling Leaves and the Scarecrow, so I put little magnets on the back of the printables to make story retelling props. The Falling Leavs and the Scarecrow

I put all of her fall work, which I gathered from various places online {all linked above} into a Fall Notebook, similar to our Christmas Notebooks from last year. I made the cover quickly and forgot to save it {so, no printable to offer, sorry}.Fall Tot School-3310 Each day she chose what she wanted to do.  Most days she did 4-5 activities, and would have done more if I could just spend my entire day with her!  I sorted her notebook into 3 parts, in the front I put coloring pages {not in any sheet protectors}, then I put a section of reusable work {mazes, tracing, etc.}, and then a section just for dot fun printables.  Things that were more project natured {cutting, gluing, etc.} I kept separately in a pouch and pulled out for her to choose something when we worked together.  Here’s a few photos of things she did.

The next day we used dot paint to play again, she loves it!Fall Tot School

Her favorite dot fun was definitely the fall tree.Fall Tot School

She made a leaf arrangement all on her own to set next to her while she colored her mini leaf colors book.Fall Tot School

Cutting, counting and gluing is another very favorite.Fall Tot School

She wanted me to hold her papers while she cut them…Fall Tot School

After she cut them apart I mixed them all up and had her match them all and glue them on a paper…Fall Tot School

Then she wanted to glue on the leftover from her cut-count-glue activity…Fall Tot School

She counted and dot painted the correct number, in our mini Fall Counting book.  This is the first time she has done this printable and she really liked it!

Scarecrow Printable Pack

Free Scarecrow Printables

I had no intention of making any new fall printables this year, but of course, Ladybug fell in love with our 2 scarecrow books immediately and asked for a “scarecrow week” so I obliged.  These printables are geared towards tots and prechoolers mostly, they were made specially for Ladybug who is 3 1/2 and I know many of your kiddos may like them too! Cutting, gluing, matching, coloring, tracing, graphing, and more!

The 2 books this pack is based upon are…

You-Can-Read-Button-200x20061

We used unit 10 from You Can Read.  Here’s a glimpse into some of the You Can Read work he did.  I don’t have many photos because he is doing a lot of the work independently now while I am working with PacMan.

He still loves BINGO…IMG_4857

We got out the Review BINGO {YCR add-on} for units 1-4 and he loved this.IMG_4864

He LOVES to do the word reading assessment {YCR add-on}.  He likes to take jewels and mark the words he can read. IMG_4964 He was SO proud to be able to read all but 1 word on this assessment!IMG_4968

Stamping his words {YCR add-on}, he really likes our new stamp padIMG_5233

He LOVES the sight word graphing {YCR add-on}IMG_5242

Finding words in sentences using our dry erase activity center  {one of his favorites}. Purple are words of the week, blue are other words he knows how to read on his own.IMG_5240

Word-Play-rectangle4122

One of our word play activities was bowling!  We also did many repeats of old Word Play ideas!IMG_5261

He used Jolanthe’s Read It! cards for Read & Write the Room.  The recording sheets are from her Fall Printables.

IMG_4828  IMG_4824

He loved Ladybug’s leaves/styrofoam tray and decided to make a tree out of them one day!IMG_4843

We found this neat missing number ordering activity here, and did it in our mini pocket chart.IMG_4849

He made an adorable Scarecrow bookIMG_4868

He worked really hard on his raccoon color by numberIMG_5113

K-with-Krash-Misc_thumb

He plays iPad school almost daily, here he was showing Ladybug Kneebouncers for the first time.  He loves to teach her things on the iPad!IMG_4938

Krash takes gymnastics now and LOVES it.  He is also progressing quickly.  I am amazed with how little he could do just a couple of months ago and what he can do now, and with such strength and confidence.  He is a little powerhouse!

Handstands on the right and left, mid-cartwheel in the middle…

He loves showing off his skills, my most common phrase these days is to tell him to stop flipping around!IMG_4988

Her shelves were mostly Fall themed, with a few random items!

On her shelves…IMG_4738IMG_4746  IMG_4747

Our fall sensory bin was out in the open and played with daily.  Ladybug works on so many skills while she plays.

IMG_4764

Here she was tossing leaves as we were singing one of our fall songs.IMG_4761

PacMan was “leaf blowing” with our ball toy!IMG_4780

I added in a glass jar when I was close by, she had fun using her tongs to put items in.IMG_4908  IMG_5014

She chose to use the tongs for clean up time mostly too!IMG_4913

She learned to stuff leaves down the blower toy and make them shoot out!

IMG_5029 IMG_5030

We used marbles for spooning one day too…IMG_5036

The leaves/styrofoam was fun, although Krash liked it more than she did!

IMG_4772

IMG_4777

She had more fun arranging them and watching them spin around!IMG_4902

IMG_4890

Plastic letters into the can was a BIG hit and played with daily.IMG_4880

IMG_4831

One of our all time favorite toys made an appearance.  Even the boys still love this thing.IMG_4750

IMG_4886

In honor of her Tot School Printable train theme, I got out her big toy train too.

IMG_4754

Of course our Foam blocks were out a lot.  This particular time she was covering up her friends and rescuing them!

Techy-Tot_thumb2

Ladybug still loves the iPad, usually while sitting in our bean bag.  We got a few new apps recently and she has some old favorites too.  She has spent most of her time playing Tozzle, Monkey Preschool, GoFun, Starfall, and Kneebouncers.  She is determined to figure out Monkey Math, which is Krash’s game, but it is a bit too hard for her.  She likes to do it with me.IMG_5044

Fall Printables & More

image

I am gathering a wide collection of free printables within certain themes. In order to better organize these online, I have created theme blog posts for the themes I have created many printables for!  Links to these pages in the top navigational bar labeled “Theme Printables” so you can jump to them easily.

image_thumb12_thumb_thumb_thumb1_thu

In this post, I will direct you to the page where the file is hosted on my website, since they are in various places! I hope this helps you find things within themes! I will try to gather anything I have done, created, or posted about surrounding this theme! Slowly I am adding more blog posts like this to help you find everything for the major themes we have done and will do!

In this post I will not be including apples, pumpkins/Halloween, or Thanksgiving.  I will be doing separate theme posts for those!
