The items are all available here on the Animal ABCs webpage. {files are released for free when they are posted on the Totally Tots blog for the ABC feature, letter L is not free yet, but it will be once it is posted on Totally Tots!}.

Here are some Letter L and Llama ideas for you…

I brought finger paint out and she LOVED it…IMG_6877

Really, really loved it.IMG_6881

She spent some time tracing with a regular marker too,IMG_6952

Screaming at me to stop taking her picture {2 seconds later she was asking me to see her picture}IMG_6953

Here she is working on Letter Ll Dot Fun, first she colored in all of the dots.  This set is included in the Animal ABC Bundle, or you can purchase the set as a stand alone set for $1.25 on Teacher’s Notebook. Then she watched as I traced each letter with glue, then she glittered them!IMG_6962

More glitter…IMG_6965

We slipped our Play Dough Mat into our Dry Erase Center, and made the letters together.  After making the letters, she poked them! IMG_6882

She worked with me to make the letter craft, which is basically an open ended project that you can do whatever you want with!  This week I gave her letter L stickers to put on it and then she finger painted it.

IMG_6865  IMG_6871

Afterwards, we put the llamas on!IMG_6873

Our llama book for the week was Is Your Mama a Llama, I got out an old idea I had done with Krash years ago, she loved it!IMG_6858

Special Note: Please read my post about Following the Child’s Lead if you have a tot and need info about this.  All tots are different and what Ladybug is doing may not be appropriate for your child, even if s/he is the same age!

She asks for her big Animal ABCs often, she loves to lay them out on the floor.IMG_6846

I gave her our foam letters too and she matched them all up!IMG_6848

My dad enjoyed playing her version of Scrabble Alphabet SoupIMG_6852

I finally got new paper for our easel and she’s back to drawing again!IMG_6854

Play dough fun with marblesIMG_6885

I added in her building set pieces too…IMG_6894

IMG_6895

Matching beginning sounds with me using our ABC felt setIMG_6913

She put most of the 3 letter word puzzles together herself and loved them.IMG_6914

We worked on reading family names and Stella was a big help!IMG_6928

She also drew herself…IMG_6932

We used our magnetic gems to make letters…IMG_6934

Block building…IMG_6939

We made ABAB patterns with Zoobs and this was her dramatic way of showing me what color came next…IMG_6942

She loved standing it up to measure…IMG_6944

Using it as a weight lifting bar was fun too…

IMG_6945 IMG_6948

Shaving cream & finger paint play…

IMG_6983 IMG_6980

Favorite toy of the week by far, our new Letter Construction set which we are reviewing for Learning Resources.  I figured she would like these, but she LOVES them.IMG_6986

We made shapes and jumped into the shape I called out…IMG_6995

We also made tons of letters and jumped to those too!IMG_7006

She looks angry in this picture but really she was reading to herself and being extremely dramatic!  It was so funny!IMG_7012

Hanging ith the big Kids

We made Origami animals along with our stop in Japan with Little Passports.  Ladybug chose to make a kitty with us, well ~ she chose for me to make a kitty for her!IMG_6919

Techy-Tot_thumb2_thumb_thumb

We are currently reviewing Readeez and Ladybug is in love.  I will be sharing more soon, but here she is watching the counting song! IMG_6843

She loves the Nursery Rhymes bundle and here is watching London Bridge.IMG_6844

Of course, iPad time!  Favorite apps this week have been; Letter School, Little Writer, Pluto Piano {she is playing in the photo}IMG_7017

Here is her desk set up for letter I…IMG_5683

The items in the pocket chart are all available here on the Animal ABCs webpage.  I added iguanas on her desk, and her Iguana on Ice book, which she loved! {files are released for free when they are posted on the Totally Tots blog for the ABC feature, letter I is not free yet, but it will be once it is posted on Totally Tots!}.

Here are some Letter I and Iguana ideas for you…

She hasn’t been into her dry erase notebook set-up lately so I switched things up and let her work on the pages this week.  She enjoyed the change!

She traced her shapes with markers and wanted to color them all in too.  Afterwards, it made a perfect “looking scope".”

    IMG_5446 IMG_5459

On another day she asked if we could glitter her shapes, so we did!IMG_5656

We used dot stickers with the number sheet to work on counting 1-20 with 1:1 correspondence.IMG_5651

The coloring is always a favorite of hers!IMG_5462

Here she is working on Letter I Dot Fun, we used dot stickers this time!  This set is included in the Animal ABC Bundle, or you can purchase the set as a stand alone set for $1.25 on Teacher’s Notebook.IMG_5438

She worked with me to make the letter craft, which is basically an open ended project that you can do whatever you want with!  She painted her letter with “snow paint.”   IMG_5503

    IMG_5524

The iguana heard that the elephant had a trip to the spa, so he wanted a turn too.IMG_5510

We also added in some finger paint to play with mixing colors!IMG_5535

Special Note: Please read my post about Following the Child’s Lead if you have a tot and need info about this.  All tots are different and what Ladybug is doing may not be appropriate for your child, even if s/he is the same age!

We are taking our All About Reading Pre Level 1 lessons slowly.  I am not expecting mastery from Ladybug, just using this program as a way to expose her to the Big Five Skills.

    This week we worked on rhyming in a very fun way, with a mystery bag!  Krash joined us too, so it was tons of giggles!  I found several objects and put them in a bag.  She reached in and grabbed something out and we made up a rhyming word to match {she pulled out a spoon, we said moon}.  At the end we matched up some of the items that rhymed {block/rock}

    IMG_4951 IMG_4960

She loved the letter page this week!  She dot painted the I green first {her choice}, the she colored the inch worms and we added their scarves.  I brought out some silver glitter to make the snow sparkle too!IMG_5642

    Learning-Toys_thumb2_thumb_thumb_thu

Not much toy play this week, not really sure why.  Here she built a spinny sun with our MagneatosIMG_5555

We played Hullaballoo together, she LOVED it!!!IMG_5735

She got this Princess “computer” for her birthday and she LOVES it.  She sits beside me and “works” on her computer!IMG_5713

    Techy-Tot_thumb2

The girl loves the iPad!  Here she was playing Teach Me ToddlerIMG_5627

    Tot School Letter Hh

    ~Ladybug is currently 35.5 months old~

    Animal-ABC-Button9222222

We started Letter H this week, but did not come close to getting even half of our activities done, so I will continue with Hippo week until we finish!  This is a good thing because I lost almost all of our hippo photos, including our shaving cream spa and painting!!! Sad smile  When I went to find them, they weren’t there, I must have formatted the card without saving, not sure at ALL how I did that.  I lost many of our other school photos too.

Here is one hippo shot I found, of the hippos swimming in the water beads.IMG_3369

    Learning-Toys_thumb2_thumb_thumb_thu[1]

I had lots of toys set up, her favorite was one of the most simple trays I created-a little bucket filled with random dice and an empty container.IMG_3321

    IMG_3333 IMG_3334

    Lining them up and counting…IMG_3336

    IMG_3340

She loves this ABC puzzle just as much as Krash did.  She did it several times this week!IMG_3344

    Techy Tot

We have added MANY new books to our iPad book collection, the new recent FAVORITE is our Little Critter Set.  My kids have always loved Little Critter books and now to have 10 of the books in this set!  I am really getting into the digital books thing, although it has taken me awhile to jump on board.  I love that they can have the book read to them, or I can read it.  IMG_3545

Other recent favorites have been the Miko books from Apps By Auryn.  The kids just love this little mouse!  See more iPad Apps we love here!

    Life School

We went camping together on Thurs and Friday nights!  It was chilly but wonderful.  Ladybug LOVED it, she is such an outdoorsy kid.

    IMG_3666

She loved the unlimited time with her Daddy!

    IMG_3847

    IMG_3938  IMG_3984

The leaves were a BIG hit!IMG_4067

Our new kitty came wit us, Ladybug bonded with her and it was just so sweet to watch,

    Tot School ~ Letter F {frog}

    ~Ladybug is currently 34.5 months old~

    Animal-ABC-Button92222

Here is her desk set up for letter F…IMG_1543

The items in the pocket chart are all available here on the Animal ABCs webpage.  I added frogs on her desk, including all of our Webkinz Frogs! {files are released for free when they are posted on the Totally Tots blog for the ABC feature, letter F is not free yet, but it will be once it is posted on Totally Tots!}.

We also had several frog books off to the side in her pink basket. I had a frog blanket I put out as well as our little frog game, which was a BIG hit.IMG_1545

On her shelves, nothing really frog related except for the top…IMG_1552

Here are some Letter F and Frog ideas for you…

She barely worked in her notebook at all this week, really just on one day.IMG_1560

    She colored her frogs happily…IMG_1628

We pressed play doh dots onto a frog dot sheetIMG_1633

She put dot stickers on another frog dot sheet

    IMG_1725 IMG_1729

Here she is working on Letter F Dot Fun, we used pom pom magnets this time {hot glue small magnets to puff balls}This set is included in the Animal ABC Bundle, or you can purchase the set as a stand alone set for $1.25 on Teacher’s Notebook.IMG_1850

She worked with me to make the letter craft, which is basically an open ended project that you can do whatever you want with!  This week she saw the letter on her desk and went at it with her markers!  She colored the entire thing dark blue!  Another day we cut frogs together, mostly she did it on her own this time!IMG_1801

Then she glued her frogs on her F…

    IMG_1805 IMG_1811

I snapped a pic of her first 6 letters before I put them in her keepsake notebook for Animal ABCs.IMG_1837

I made some other frog printables for Ladybug, I just don’t have them ready to share yet-gotta adjust and upload the files.  I will, promise, just short on time right now!  I made a letter maze to match the animal.  At first she only wanted to put the magnets on every square, so I let her.  Then she noticed she didn’t have enough and logic set in.IMG_1853I told her she would have enough if she just put them on the pathway of letter Ff’s.  She did and loved it!IMG_1855

She is VERY into play doh letters.  I am working on a new set of A-Z play doh mats that feature the animals from Animal ABCs!  She LOVED these and worked on it a few timesIMG_1862

We made a frog inspired by No Time for FlashcardsIMG_1819

    More frog ideas here…image_thumb

Special Note: Please read my post about Following the Child’s Lead if you have a tot and need info about this.  All tots are different and what Ladybug is doing may not be appropriate for your child, even if s/he is the same age!

We are taking our All About Reading Pre Level 1 lessons slowly.  I am not expecting mastery from Ladybug, just using this program as a way to expose her to the Big Five Skills.

This week we did lesson 6, continuing our work with rhyming words.  No photos of that part this week!

She loved the letter page this week!IMG_1823

    IMG_1830

She was SO proud of her completed work.  As you can see she worked for a long time and really focused on the details.  She chose all colors herself!IMG_1842

Learning-Toys_thumb2_thumb_thumb_thu[1]It was learning toy week for her.  Usually she is more of a table gal, but she played TONS with her toys, which I loved!  All of this was her choice, if it were up to me we’d do way more of this every week!

    Matching shapesIMG_1583

Noah’s Ark, she insisted on putting the animals in their proper holes…IMG_1568

This is the best baby toy ever.  All 3 of my kids still play with this thing!  Here she was spinning her frogs around!IMG_1574

She loves the Animal Train PuzzlesIMG_1587

Pattern Blocks on the dishwasher with Krash…

    IMG_1613  IMG_1625

My girl loved the new colors of play doh.  She got busy cutting snakes right away!

    IMG_1659 IMG_1674

She is in LOVE with Skylanders {it’s a video game if you don’t have school age boys, and I recently added a Kindergarten Pack to my website here!} and this is her favorite, Wrecking Ball.  She made him with the Play Doh.  She is such the little sis of BROTHERS!IMG_1709

She didn’t used to like this toy, but she went to it several times this week.  It is a challenge for her, but she can do it!IMG_1714

More pattern block time, she loves that her magnets are all organized now {I got that little click together box set at Target, actually I got several of them!}IMG_1717

    Hanging ith the big Kids

This is a new section for Ladybug, it will contain all of the things she does because she simply wants to do whatever the boys are doing!

Here they are doing their Calendar Notebooks, while she sits and colors in her Tot Time Notebook.  She said to me several times, “Mommy, I wuv my notebook.”  😉

    IMG_1758 IMG_1770

We are back to focusing on our virtues from We Choose Virtues.  We started learning about being Diligent this week.  She LOVES the cards and asks to hold them.  Guess they make good telescopes?IMG_1778

We are studying Brazil thanks to our Little Passports.  I have brought out all of our South America stuff and we just do a little each day-nothing major.  She LOVED the puzzle and wanted to do it herself!  She repeated all of the countries with me too!IMG_1864

Moms FavoriteThe girl is obsessed with her tutu collection and often has one on.  Her recent activity of the day is running around the living room and dancing.  It’s really just running, but she thinks she is doing a very fancy dance.IMG_1612
