Our tiny animals are one of the MOST played with items in our home. Ladybug is the biggest fan and has loved them since she was aware we had them!  She seriously plays with this collection more than anything else we own.  I am consistently adding to the collection in various ways; Zulily credit, Amazon sales, 50% off coupons at Michaels and gifts from others!

Home Preschool Letter C -8692

I find our animals playing with her in just about every situation you can think of. They are constant companions!

Home Preschool -0364

I also pull specific animal sets in to use for our Continent Box studies {Australia shown below}.

I also add any animals beginning with our current letter to our Alphabet Basket collection! Below you can see our monkey collection hidden in for our Letter M basket!

The best way to get a good deal on the Safari Toobs is by using a 40-50% off one item coupon at Michaels or a similar store.  Often the toobs are found on the end caps of aisles.  A normal price for a toob is between $8-11, so with a coupon they are a great price! These little creatures are high quality and have lasted through MASSIVE play at our house for many years. If you have little ones, I definitely recommend building up a collection!

On the List...Unique Riding Toys

Our three favorite riding toys are…

RipStik ~ both boys have one and love it.  It scares me to death, but that’s part of having boys, right? They have the Ripster, which is the smaller version.  K’s awesome helmet is this one.

Both of our boys have the RipStik Ripster, which is the smaller version and is recommended for ages 8 and up {max weight 175 lbs.}.  Krash got his for Christmas when he was 5 1/2 and has been riding it ever since.  He is advanced in physical and balance skills. PacMan is 11 1/2 and still uses the Ripster, but could move up to the regular size if he wanted to buy a new one.

RipRider {FlashRider 360 has the spark addition} ~ the boys put their money together awhile back and purchased this together.  It was a great investment and is ridden every single time they are outside.  If we had a bigger space to ride I’d love for them to have 2 to ride together.

We have the FlashRider 360 {red} made for ages 6 and up {max weight 160 lbs.}.  The RipRider {blue} is recommended for ages 5 and up and doesn’t have the spark addition.  The boys love the spark but it certainly isn’t necessary. Their cousin has the blue RipRider and they love his too. RipRider is currently $59 on Amazon.

My boys paid $95 for this one, I just checked Amazon and it is only $69.99 right now!

Plasma Car ~  Look how old ours is!  We got it for a review item back in 2010 and have enjoyed it ever since. All 3 kids still ride it and although it is run down looking, it still works!  Shh, don’t tell, but they are getting a brand new one for Christmas thanks to Zulily credit!

The Plasma Car is recommended for age 3 and up {max weight 220 lbs.}.  We even have fun riding it!  Here’s our original review, you can see how young our boys look!

We were given the Candy Construction Building Set for a review awhile back {here’s the review}.  This is another building set that my kids all fell in love with immediately.  Building and candy theme?  Total win for them!

What Ages?

The recommended age range is 4-10.  I would recommend much younger as I think this is a great set to grow with.  My oldest is 11 and he still builds things with this set. The set has 92 pieces and the pieces are well made and sturdy.

Thoughts to Consider…

Sometimes when the kids build the car it doesn’t stay together as well as they would like.  This seems to be mostly because of the red “licorice” pieces.  The other creations stay together fine as long as they put them in correctly.  Ladybug has been building independently with this since day one {she was 3 1/2 when we got it} Now at 4 1/2 she can follow the manual and build things herself.  It is a very open-ended, creative building toy!

Currently the Candy Construction Building Set is $25 on Amazon here.

On the List...Bean Bag Chair

We were given an Ahh Products bean bag chair years ago for a review.  We absolutely fell in love and ended up getting 2 more, for a grand total of 3 in our house.  ALL 3 are used daily, by both pets and people!

Here’s an extensive review I wrote last year, I also answered reader questions in the comments if you want to peek there too for more info.

Ahh Bean Bag Chairs

These are very high quality, long lasting bean bags, not the kind you grab while at Target. I will admit, the price shocked me at first years ago, but now having owned them for years, I totally get it.  They are amazing!

Home Preschool Letter Gg -2125

My kids not only sit in them but also jump, flip and play in them. Notice K mid air about to land in our large brown bean bag!

2nd Grade Homeschool -6477

Both our cat and dog use them as beds too, and with washable covers this is no problem.  The inner liner is waterproof for the double WIN with young kids and pets!

Thoughts to Consider…

We own a red and navy cuddle fabric 37” Large, and a brown cuddle fabric 52” Giant, both with “reground beans.” You can read more about the sizes we own here {yes you will see photos of my family on their website, I gave them permission to use some of our photos for their site!}.  See the purchase page for the fabric we own here.

We have refilled our bean bags, which is common if you children jump into them a lot {ours do}. You can see more info about refilling them here.  These bean bags have a 10 Year Warranty.

Their Facebook page is here, be sure to check for any discount codes. Currently I see a 5% discount with code: EarlyBird5

They do sell Ahh! bean bags on Amazon also, you can find them here. Be sure to check the prices in both places before buying, to be sure you are getting the lowest for the one you choose.

This is an investment, and the price reflects the quality.  I can’t see a day when we won’t use these bean bags, they are a long term piece of furniture. If you have active children that you homeschool, I highly recommend one for the school time use. We have 2 kept in our school room and they have been a HUGE help for reading time, wiggly kids, jumping into and more.  They really are as awesome as they look.

Do you already own a bean bag you love?  Is one on your list?

What Ages?

The recommended age range is 5-8.  I would recommend much younger and begin building the shapes and letters for your tot!  I think this is a great set to grow with.  My oldest is 11 and he still builds things with this set.  The kids love to create all together.

Thoughts to Consider…

I will say some of the pieces don’t hold together as well as the kids would like.  They have little connectors on them and although most are fine, a few are a bit loose causing some frustration.  But this has not hindered my kids from loving this set and using it in all sorts of creative ways! I sometimes will help Ladybug get hers connected firmly, but she can usually snap them together on her own now.

Currently the Letter Construction Activity Kit is $27.99 n Amazon here.
