Fall Fun ~ Just Color!

The idea behind Just Color! is simple ~ theme packs all focused around coloring. There are mostly coloring pages, and a few coloring activities. The coloring pages are all in one download to make it easier to download and print all at once, in case you have coloring monsters like I do!

I just added a new Fall Fun Coloring set!

Over at The Kavanaugh Report, this beautifully prepared tot activity was ignored by her son.  Why would I feature this?  To remind us all that we will be rejected by our tots many, many times!  We will work hard to prepare beautiful  {and what we call fun} activities only to have them snubbed by our opinionated tots.  Funny thing, in a few weeks or months he might love this!

Please read this carefully before linking up! This may no longer be the linky for you, so please glance through this list to be sure you want to stick around and link up with us!
By linking up you agree to the following:
  1. A photo and a link to your post may appear in a future Tot School post. You give me permission to choose a photo from the post you link up, and give me permission to use your ideas in my post. I will link back to you, mention your blog, and give you full credit for any ideas choose to share form your post. If you don’t want me sharing photos, your blog, or ideas, please don’t link up.
  2. Your post is a post written specifically for Tot School and not just an idea for tots. It features your own child{ren} in action. This is a community for moms to come together and share their journey with Tot School virtually.
  3. Provide a link back to Tot School within your blog post {you can use this link: http://www.1plus1plus1equals1.net/tag/tot%20school/ or a direct link to the weekly post you link up to} if you link up. If you do not link back to Tot School, your link will be deleted. Link backs on the sidebar, or in a massive “I link up here” page don’t count ~ they are too difficult for me to find and the first thing I look for when verifying links is the link back.
  4. Link up your exact Tot School post {not your blog homepage} if you are unsure how to do that read this!
Each week I will feature photo{s} and ideas from blogs who link up. Sometimes it may be one simple idea, sometimes it may be a collection based around a concept .

Play with Numbers Printable Pack

We were given the full version of KneeBouncers Play with Purpose iPad app and got to explore the entire content.  The app is FREE and comes with 5 free games, and there are in app purchase options {which you can turn off if desired} to have all of the content.

Kneebouncers

I honestly wasn’t sure what Ladybug would think of the app.  We have a LOT of apps, and she is super picky nowadays.  She really enjoys her “school” apps, I just wasn’t sure if this one would make the cut for her.  Immediately she recognized the design, as we have the KneeBouncers Volume 1 {we bought it years ago}.  She began scrolling through the games and I ended up having to peel her way.  She really enjoyed this app and the educational quality was great.

Kneeboucners Play with Numbers -8445

I was asked to develop an activity that was inspired by the Play with Numbers section in the app, so of course I thought a printable pack would be awesome!

Play with Numbers

Ladybug’s favorite mini game was the Puppy Race, so I made a roll and graph game featuring the puppies!

Kneeboucners Play with Numbers -9105

To say she loved the roll and graph game would be a total understatement.  She saw it in a box on my desk one night {before I had planned to show her} and went nuts and begged to play!  I couldn’t resist so we had a bedtime game of Puppy Racers together!

We play our Roll and Graph games differently each time, you can see other variations here. This night she asked for stickers to mark her graph.

The blue puppy won!

But, she wasn’t done yet, she was having so much fun she asked to fill in the entire graph!

Kneeboucners Play with Numbers -9062  Kneeboucners Play with Numbers -9061

Such a simple and easy to prepare activity, with so many valuable extensions for developing early math skills. Many of these same skills are developed while using the Kneebouncers App also!

Kneeboucners Play with Numbers -9068

I couldn’t stop there, so I also worked with KneeBouncers to develop a number maze, and also some number cards to play various games with!

Here you see her putting the cards in order.  We continued by matching the 2nd set of numbers too!Kneeboucners Play with Numbers -9090

Lots of math talk going on as she made the realization that both 3 and 13 had the number 3 in them, and so on!  It was a big light bulb moment for her!Kneeboucners Play with Numbers -9094

There are 2 sets of 1-20 cards, you can use them to work on matching, numerical order, number ID, or play memory!  There are so many variations with just a simple set of printable numbers with adorable designs kids love!

We didn’t get a chance to work on the number maze yet, it’s a bit more challenging as it contains all numbers and you have to follow the correct order to get through the maze.

Home Preschool ~ Letter M

Each week I share 2-3 posts sharing our home preschool learning.  This post is only sharing our letter focused work. If we have a theme of the week, it will be a separate post too.  All of our general play based learning will be in a final weekly wrap up post called, “Learning with Ladybug.”  I am separating out the posts to make them easier for people to find down the road when searching for specific letter/theme activities.  See our entire home preschool plan here!

We love our ABC Baskets!  I love how much she enjoys digging through them.  We play a lot together during the week exploring the contents.

Usually on one day during the week, I will pull out all of the puzzles and display them as an invitation for her to complete them, she almost always accepts the invitation!

I gathered some of our books about mice, moose, and monkeys!

Home Preschool Letter M -7973

I drew an M on our easel and drew one mouse, thinking that’s what we would add to our letter.  The kids had a different idea and decided M was for Minecraft! Home Preschool Letter M -8734

CRAFTS

She loves the paint cut and glue crafts from Learn, Create, Love.  This week we made the mouse!

PRINTABLES

I create a binder with all of the printables I chose and allowed her to flip through and choose something to do.

We used glitter and glue to create our letter Mm from the Q-Tip alphabet printables.  She didn’t want to use a Q tip!

Home Preschool Letter M -8281

The next few printables are from the Letter M pack which is available here. This printable pack was given to us from a kind blog reader who also creates printables!

I decided to try the word puzzles and although she didn’t LOVE them, she definitely liked them.  After we put them all together, with the help of a Littlest Pet Shop bug, we worked on sounds.

Home Preschool Letter M -8568

I would sound the word out slowly and she would move the bug to the word I was saying.

We used stickers to fin the words that begin with Letter M, she loves this activity!
