Make a button bouquet!  I love this idea from Royal Baloo, what a fun way to really work those fine motor skills!

Royal Baloo Button Bouquet

In Everything used the book Jesse Bear What Will You Wear for a week of fun learning!  They used the printable pack from Homeschool Creations, and quite obviously ROSE rhymes with TOES and therefore needed to be placed between the toes!in everything

I love simple ideas, and this counting beads activity Growing Olives shared is just that!  Simple, engaging, and fun for a tot!

Please read this carefully before linking up! This may no longer be the linky for you, so please glance through this list to be sure you want to stick around and link up with us!
By linking up you agree to the following:
  1. A photo and a link to your post may appear in a future Tot School post. You give me permission to choose a photo from the post you link up, and give me permission to use your ideas in my post. I will link back to you, mention your blog, and give you full credit for any ideas choose to share form your post. If you don’t want me sharing photos, your blog, or ideas, please don’t link up.
  2. Your post is a post written specifically for Tot School and not just an idea for tots. It features your own child{ren} in action. This is a community for moms to come together and share their journey with Tot School virtually.
  3. Provide a link back to Tot School within your blog post {you can use this link: http://www.1plus1plus1equals1.net/tag/tot%20school/ or a direct link to the weekly post you link up to} if you link up. If you do not link back to Tot School, your link will be deleted. Link backs on the sidebar, or in a massive “I link up here” page don’t count ~ they are too difficult for me to find and the first thing I look for when verifying links is the link back.
  4. Link up your exact Tot School post {not your blog homepage} if you are unsure how to do that read this!
Each week I will feature photo{s} and ideas from blogs who link up. Sometimes it may be one simple idea, sometimes it may be a collection based around a concept .

Newsletter Subscriber Freebies

Those of you who have been around awhile may remember my Facebook Fan Freebies. I had the Animal Dot Fun & Let’s Trace Numbers.  Well, the app I used to display the freebies disappeared all of the sudden and I lost all of the data I had created to display those on my Facebook page. Since I am not thrilled with the direction Facebook has taken {mostly due to the lack of followers actually seeing updates}, I decided to go back and convert all of my former Facebook Fan Freebies to Newsletter Subscriber Freebies!  I also added in the Baby Animal Calendar Connections set since I never got around to adding it to my Teacher’s Notebook Shop and a few people have asked about it. Here’s what all of my Newsletter Subscribers will receive {in one email}…

Animal-ABC-Dot-Fun-Extra-Animals  Let's Trace Numbers Freebie  Calendar-Connections-Baby-Animals

If you are already signed up {for the newsletter}, you should already have the email {I set it to go out to all past and new subscribers}.  If you need to search your email the title is “Newsletter Subscriber Freebies from 1+1+1=1.”

If you are not a newsletter subscriber yet, you can sign up here! You will receive a welcome email immediately after you confirm your subscription, and then the freebie email.  They are separate.

Confused about what in the world you are or aren’t subscribed to?  Click here for all of the details. Main detail: the BLOG FEED email is not the same as the newsletter.  The newsletter is a once a month{ish} thing, the blog feed email is just a duplicate of any blog posts I post {3-6 times per week}.

Thanks for being a part of my online community and sorry for all of you who went looking for these via Facebook, I apologize for the inconvenience of them not being there and taking so long to fix it!

Fairies & Flowers Sensory Bin

I am a big fan of taking toys we already have and creating learning experiences from them. I love to expand on the natural interests of my young kids and use those interests to make early learning more fun and engaging.  Ladybug’s love of her fairies is my latest example of this.  She is working through her Fairy Printable Pack right now and also enjoying a Fairies & Flowers Sensory Bin!

Fairy Sensory Bin -1459

She got a fairy set  {it was a big set from Target, I can’t find a link to the one we got} for Christmas so I used them as my fairies, but I also saw these online that are cute too! I looked through our sensory bin small item collections and decided to add mini foam flowers, shiny rocks, mini butterfly erasers and heart/star/flower links {those are from Dollar Tree}.

On a special theme week, I allow all of the toys within that theme in the schoolroom also, as a special treat.  You can see her fairy house {we got ours at Toys R Us for $30 on sale at Christmas time} and was a part of our play time too.

Lots of simple learning happens with our sensory bins, below you can see we made colored beds for the fairies.  We sorted, counted, made patterns and enjoyed imaginative play together!

Krash is almost 7 and still LOVES our bins.  He always finds a way to enjoy them, even if they are a bit “girly” he could care less!  Below you can see his rock pond, complete with flower lily pads for the frogs to jump around on.

What’s in the Bible? Volume 10!

112

We had the honor of reviewing the latest What’s in the Bible DVD, volume 10, Jesus is the Good News!  We currently use the DVDs in our homeschool, you can read more about that here.  We aren’t done with the Old Testament, but with Easter coming soon, I thought it was a great time to jump ahead and grab a little New Testament viewing time.

The kids have watched volume 10 a few times now and we have all learned a LOT.  Currently all 3 of my kiddos love these DVDs.  Look, even the dog watches with us!

What's in the Bible-1149

I was very impressed with the historical facts presented in this volume {as always}, I am amazed with what I learn and how the Bible comes together for me when I watch along with them.

We also took advantage of the free printable puzzle and used it as an object lesson about our family.  I cut up the puzzle and we all colored pieces without knowing what everyone else was coloring.  In the end we put it together and got a good laugh at our creation.  We talked about how all the members of our family are different, but we fit together beautifully in God’s plan! What's in the Bible-1252
